Be certain you are not chasing shadows

We are always chasing something as human wants are insatiable.

Amaka was studying statistics in the higher institution as a part time student.

She settled for that option as she got tired of being jambed every year.

Later she saw an option that seemed more favorable and she decided to abandon her studies and go for the greener option.

She moved to Lagos wrote jambs again and failed, she quickly went for the diploma form.

With a diploma degree she can by pass writing jamb, she told her supposed sponsor and he denied ever making that promise.

He told her that it’s impossible for him to spend such large amount of money for diploma.

He advised she wait and write jamb again, amaka was disappointed, lost another year and by the time she went back to continue her abandoned programme 2 years later.

She was told it’s rather too late. She lost that completely, no admission in view and her life was full of regrets.

She constantly loses out on opportunities she’s qualified for all because she has no degree.

That is a constant reminder of the awful decision she took in the past.

She left the one thing she had in search of a greener pasture. Little did she know she was simply chasing shadows.

There are so many Amaka in the world today, who are easily swayed by the little promises of hope.

Before you leave that job for another offer coming, make certain you’ve gotten another one or you’ve saved enough to last you.

Before you leave the country for greener pastures be sure you have all the information you need to succeed where you are going.

Just before leaving your line of business to another one that seem to be moving faster, be certain you have made necessary market research.

You see in life, we don’t always get what we want, we get what we work hard for.

What ever you do, make sure you don’t quit what’s working for a mere imagination or assumption.

Keep what you have until you have proved beyond reasonable doubt that you greener pasture is actually green.

No matter how difficult it gets, please don’t ever give up.

Steve Harvey once said ” If you give up, the guarantee is that it will never happen.”

Don’t be like Amaka who gave up/quit and that decision is a constant thorn in her heart as she constantly blame herself each time she misses out of opportunities.

Keep keeping on, I’m rooting for you.
