Dear men, you are not scum

Dear Men, you are not scum.

I write to tell you that you are appreciated.

I know you were told to ‘be a man’ from a little age.

You couldn’t cry out loud when things hurt you even as a child.

You didn’t get all the attention you needed because you were thought how to be strong.

I know you are not scum and there is a great compassion inside of you.

I want you to know it’s OK to shed a little tear.

We know you are going through a lot with the burden on your shoulder.

Know this, your sacrifices to make things better for the family is recognized.

Your fears of not meeting up and the worries it gives you when things ain’t going fine are very visible.

You are a special specie therefore you are not scum.

To all the amazing fathers, caring boyfriends, lovers, uncles, and well wishers.

You are loved.

Keep living.
