British actor and star of ‘Batman’, fictional superhero movie, Robert Pattinson, has been named ‘the most handsome man in the world’ following scientific research into what constitutes the “perfect face”.

According to Daily Mail, the 33-year-old film star was found to be 92.15 per cent “accurate” to the Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, which is said to assess physical perfection.

It was also revealed that Pattinson’s eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, jaw and facial shape were found to be closest to the ancient Greeks’ idea of perfection when compared with other male celebrities.

Julian De Silva, a cosmetic surgeon, who compiled the list, adopted computerised mapping techniques aided by the use of technology. She explained that Pattinson was clearly ahead of others.

“Robert Pattinson was the clear winner when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection,” said De Silva, who runs the Centre For Advanced Facial Cosmetic And Plastic Surgery, in London.

“He was in the top five for nearly all the categories because he has such classically shaped features and a wonderful chiselled jaw. His only score below average was for his lips which are a little thin and flat.

“These brand new computer mapping techniques allow us to solve some of the mysteries of what it is that makes someone physically beautiful and the technology is useful when planning patients’ surgery.”

Pattinson was trailed on the list by Henry Cavill who emerged second on the list with 91.64 percent while Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt and George Clooney were adjudged third, fourth and fifth with 91.08, 90.51 and 89.91 percents respectively.

Occupying the sixth spot on the list was Hugh Jackman with 89.64 per cent followed by David Beckham with 88.96 per cent on the seventh position. Idris Elba was the eight on the list with 88.01 per cent while Kanye West and Ryan Gosling made the 9th and 10th positions with 87.94 and 87.48 percents respectively.
