I thought being black is dirty – Ghanaian singer, Mzbel
Ghanaian singer Mzbel has revealed she thought being black is dirty.
To her she believed she was ugly hence needed to bleach her skin in other to look beautiful.
She believed the reason she felt that way was because of “Self Hate “.
After suffering the side effect of bleaching, she has come to understand that being black ain’t necessaryly dirty and can boldly call herself a beautiful black woman.
Posting a photo of herself on IG the singer captioned;
I used to think I was ugly, I thought being black is dirty, so I took to skin bleaching and suffered horrible side effects years later. But that is the result of self-hate.
I shared my story and got help, now I’ve learned to say: “You know what? I am a beautiful black woman
She is indeed black and beautiful.
