6ix9ine drops ‘Gooba’ – First Song Since Prison Release

American rapper better Daniel Hernandez, known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, has come through with ‘Gooba’, his first song since he was released from prison.

The music superstar took to his social media page on Friday to announce the release of the colourful project to his numerous fans.

In the post, 6ix9ine jokingly asked his fans if they thought he “was finished” following his ordeals with the US authorities.

“I am back. Link in my bio. Everyone go watch right now. Repost it on your page. Hold up, wait a minute, you thought I was finished. Repost!!!,” he wrote on Instagram.

The less than-three minutes project sees the rapper reflecting on a range of issues including COVID-19 as well as his relationship with prosecutors in providing testimony about his fellow gang members.

In December last year, the 24-year-old rapper was sentenced to two years in prison after testifying against members of Nine Trey Gang, a violent group he once belonged to.

He had been convicted of several charges pressed against him including racketeering, carrying a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy murder charges.

On April 2, 6ix9ine was freed by Paul Engelmayer, a U.S. district judge, over concerns that the rapper, who has asthma, could be at risk of the coronavirus pandemic while in prison.

He had consequently been placed under house-arrest. Engelmayer would further relax his home-confinement requirements on April 29, to allow him make music at designated hours as approved by his probation department officer.
