Update : D’banj sues his rape accuser for N1.5 billion

Nigerian music singer and entertainer,D’banj has sued his rape accuser ,Seyitan Babatayo for N1.5 billion.

D’banj in a previous lawsuit demanded a N100 million from Seyi Babatayo for character defamation and also asked for an apology through her lawyers.

Following recent happenings and several twist in the case, D’banj through his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome Chambers, has asked Ms Babatayo to pay N1.5 billion Naira.

N1 billion was demanded in damages “over the untold embarrassment, derision, public ridicule, odium, obloguy, marital disharmony, mental agony and psychological trauma which the Defendants’ tweets and publication have caused the claimant.”

N500 million was demanded as “aggravated, punitive, and exemplary damages.”

The suit also demanded that Seyitan writes D’banj “a letter of unreserved apology for the offensive tweets and posts”.

D’banj’s lawyers also prayed the court to grant “an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendant from further publishing, tweeting or posting offensive libelous statements.”

In the past weeks , Seyitan has released several publication via her twitter handle which are confusing and contradicting.

In a statement she detailed how she was arrested and detained by the police  and coerced to delete and post things on her Twitter handle.

Some of the things she posted includes she was never detained ,wanting to leave everything behind and so many others.
