Ferrari: Go home and appreciate your father – Reno Omokri counsels
Since the news that billionaire Femi Otedola purchased three Ferraris for his three daughters, varied reactions have followed.
While some praised the business mogul for his gesture, some have wondered why their father could not do much for them.
A former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has cautioned those who think their father has not done enough because he did not give them such a gift. To him, they should be contented with what their fathers have been able to do for them.
In a post on social media, the lawyer simply counselled them to go home and appreciate their father.
In his analysis, he noted that Otedola is a billionaire and the cost of three Ferraris is less than 1% of his net worth. Adding, “If your father spent 5% of his net worth educating you, then your father did more than Otedola.
“Your father is not less than Femi Otedola because he did not buy you a Ferrari. Otedola is a billionaire. The cost of 3 Ferraris is less than 1% of his net worth. If your father spent 5% of his net worth educating you, then your father did more than Otedola. Remember the account of the widow’s mite? Don’t just look at the amount. Rather, look at the sacrifice. $1 million is a chicken change to a billionaire. $10,000 is a sacrifice to a working man. Go home and appreciate your father. He did what Otedola has not done!”
