# EndSARS: It took the threat of a Marlian protest to get a response – Venita Akpofure

Former Big Brother housemate, Venita Akpofure is shocked it took the threat of a marlian protest to get a response from the government.

Venita said it didn’t take the hashtags, trending videos, viral stories or pictures but a Marlian protest for the government to give response on the call of its citizens to end SARS.

Marlians are fans of Nigerian musician, Naira Marley who scheduled to hold a protest today 6th,October 2020.

However Naira Marley canceled and held an Instagram live discussion with the Police representative.

Venita wrote on Twitter;

” So it took the threat of a marlian protest to trigger a response, NOT the viral stories, NOT the pictures or videos of bruised and battered victims.

Not the trending hashtag either. I swear Just when you think you have not seen it all. 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Naira Marley does not hold political office! He did what he did cus like Wiz he used his platform.

Every public figure is at risk 2use their own platform which can occasionally be quite costly. Let’s be guided.

If you will not die for your country? Who are you 2 tell sum1 else 2.

Caring deeply, activism and straight up martyrdom are three VERY different things.

Let everyone fight the fight they want to fight at their own capacity. Peaceful Progress is the most important objective. We can be thankful for that.”
