Miley Cyrus Announces Release Date For ‘Plastic Hearts’ Album
American singer, Miley Cyrus has announced the release date for ‘Plastic Hearts’, her seventh studio album.
The 27-year-old songwriter took to Twitter on Friday to put out a statement where she said that the project will be released on November 27.
On the rigours she faced while putting the body of work together, Cyrus reminisced on how she lost a couple of songs after her California home with Liam Hemsworth, her ex-husband, got burned down.
“I began this album over 2 years ago. Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record with its songs and sounds but my whole fucking life. But no one checks an ego like life itself,” she wrote.
“Just when I thought the body of work was finished, it was all erased. Including most of the music’s relevance. Everything had changed. Nature did what I now see as a favour and destroyed what I couldn’t let go of for myself.
“I lost my house in a fire but found myself in its ashes. Luckily my collaborators still had most of the music that was burned up in journals and computers filled with songs for the EP series I was working on at the time.
“But it never felt right to release my ‘story’ (each record being a continual autobiography) with a huge chapter missing.
“If it were a chapter in my book I guess I would call it ‘The Beginning’ which usually when something is over we call it ‘The End’. But it was far from that.
“In triumph and gratitude, I present to you my 7th studio record, Plastic Hearts. To be released Nov. 27th, 2020.”
Cyrus’ forthcoming project follows after her previous albums: ‘Meet Miley Cyrus’ (2007), ‘Breakout’ (2008), ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ (2010), ‘Bangerz’ (2013), ‘Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz’ (2015), and ‘Younger Now’ (2017).
On the fire outbreak that had hit her home back in 2018, the singer was said to have lost her music journals and computer containing the tracks meant for a series of EPs she had planned on releasing throughout 2019.
In August, Cyrus had confirmed her split from Cody Simpson, her lover who happens to be an Australian musician.
