Williams Uchemba writes open letter to Govt on why the #endsars protest is yet to stop
Nollywood actor and comedian, Uchemba Williams via an open letter to the Nigerian government has revealed why the youths who are protesting against brutality are yet to go off the streets.
The Abia State born TV star via his verified Intagram page wrote, ” Dear Nigerian Government,
I know you’ve been wondering the people championing this protest, I know you’ve been asking yourselves why the protest is still going on after agreeing to do everything the Nigerian youth have asked, I know you been asking and investigating who the leader of this protest is and how you can stop this new movement that has been on for days now. “
“Well in case you don’t know this protest is no longer about ending police brutality ( as that is just one out of ALOT to address), this is about the pain and frustration the Nigerian citizens have been going through for years, this is about the over 40 million people who after four or five years of schooling can’t find a job, this is about people that their loved ones died in the hospital over a very little issue because of the poor health care system, this is about people that after working for years can’t even have access to their pension money, this is about new business and entrepreneurs the Nigerian government have Frustrated because of all the unnecessary charges on a baby business thereby shutting the business down, this is about years and years of leaving in darkness when every year we hear about the billions and billions of naira that is put into the electricity system in this country, I could go on and on to tell you why this protest is happening.”
“I can tell you for free that the people have had enough and have woken up in Unity with one voice and you can’t break that because POWER BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE. #restructureNigeria #giveusbasicamenities.”
