DJ Cuppy, Simi, shine at AFRIMMA Awards
Nigerian music star and DJ, Florence Otedola aka DJ Cuppy, recently took to social media to celebrate after winning the Best African DJ title at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) Awards.
The 28-year-old bagged the Best African DJ title at the recently held AFRIMMA Awards
Sumilarly at the same event, Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress, Simi won the Best Female West Africa Award.
Simi beat fellow Nigeria singers Teni, Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade and six other nominees in that category to win the award.
In a post on Twitter to celebrate her award, DJ Cuppy stated how honoured ahe is to be the first woman to win the award. She dedicated it to all her fans.
She wrote:
“Best African DJ” 2020 @Afrimma Awards 🏆✨ … As the first woman to win this award, I am truly HONOURED and will continue to disrupt my industry; this one is for YOU my Cupcakes! 🧁 #CuppyOnAMission.”
The 2020 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) which came off virtually on November 15 saw many artiste across the continent take home numerous honours.
