Naira Marley Condemns Arrest Of Schoolboys ‘Who Described Themselves As Marlians’

Nigerian singer, Naira Marley has condemned the arrest of some schoolboys by operatives of the Oyo state chapter of the Southwest Security Network, Amotekun, for allegedly identifying themselves as Marlians.

A viral video had surfaced online on Saturday wherein the secondary school students were being forced into an Amotekun van.

The video has continued to generate heated controversies, with Nigerians expressing mixed reactions.

Joining the fray in a post on his Instagram page, the ‘Soapy’ crooner faulted the rationale behind the arrest of the students, describing it as “child abuse”.

The ‘Tesumole’ singer also asked for the location of the school, explaining that he would love to meet the arrested students.

“How can you arrest school kids? This is child abuse. The teachers and this stupid uncles with guns need to be arrested,” he wrote.

“I want to meet all these kids I owe them please help me with the name of the school or link me up with any of my Marlian kids. Thanks. I wanna see the witch behind the camera self. What the f**k is Amotekun sef??

“If they treat your child like this, what would you do? Did you see the slap?? You calling someone child criminal?? Omoo I’m so angry give me school name please. I need to go there.”

The development comes amid allegations of extrajudicial killings and unwarranted harassment against the security outfit since it began operation.
