Four months after his arrest and suffering in the hands of police, popular comedian and actor, Debo Adebayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, again on Saturday joined Lagos residents protesting at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in the Ojota area.
It can be recalled that in February 2021, Mr Macaroni, along with other protesters, was arrested and maltreated by police for protesting at the Lekki tollgate as he called for justice to be served to the slain and injured victims of the October 20, 2020, #EndSARS protests at the toll plaza.
He and the others had risen against plans by the Lagos State Government to permit the reopening of the plaza shut after the midnight attack and shooting of peaceful protesters by soldiers and police.
The Police had earlier set up the June 12 protesters with teargas and gunshots as the activists marched towards their rendezvous at the Gani Fawehinmi Park.
However, they converged again in front of an inter-state motor park, displaying their placards.
The crowd chanted “Buhari must go,” asking for good governance and an end to insecurity in the country.
Addressing journalists, Mr Macaroni was perplexed that President Muhammadu Buhari, who contested presidential elections at least four times before he later emerged victoriously, was the same person causing pains to Nigerians.
