Real Warri Pikin Gets Knocks, Kudos For Comparing Marriage To Horror Film

August 11,2021
Share:

Comedienne, Real Warri Pikin has caused reactions after comparing marriage to a horror film, despite her portraying the opposite with wonderful photographs of her marriage.

In a video on Instagram Real Warri Pikin, real name, Anita Asuoha frowned against soceity’s perception that men from boyhood have the right to misbehave, she said that it is such concept that has led to what she termed the Horror Movie that is called Marriage.

How ever Real Warri pikin has remarkably presented her own marriage to be blissful and not a horror movie as she portrayed in her message on Instagram.

.

While some flayed her for portraying a wrong message on marriage, others lauded her for saying the truth.

According to the Comedienne who spoke in Pidgin English,(translated) “Men must always be men…he is a boy…boys must always be boys…this has caused the suffering of women in this horror movie called marriage….the society has normalized bad characters from men…society has even refused to train the upcoming men…”

Some of her followers took to the comment section to argue that she didn’t convey her message properly. One of such followers;

@josh_ighomena wrote “Good morning mama, so what’s the message now? I felt you were going to tell them not to believe that statement. I thought you were going to say people should change that notion in their hearts. Cos I reason say you dey your marriage normally so you suppose just quickly chip am in say no be true oh, say men still dey wey their head correct. Please ma we need people like you to help us correct notion in the hearts of the younger ladies. God bless you always”.

However, the follower got countered by,

@emily.topia and okuo.hope who explained that she has passed her message the best way she could as they respectively wrote “so you not dey understand English? How else do you want her to say it?” “She said it already that the statement ‘e nor work’ meaning, we should not say that again nor believe such saying”.

Despite the counter attacks, there were also supportive comments to the Comedienne’s post as;

@emehchizurum wrote “these are the issues. Most boys or men don’t even know they have bad behavior or they misbehave a lot cos of this said phrase. Any behavior you see as bad in a woman is also bad in a man. Cursing, rude, being disrespectful, fighting, uncleanness, poor conversation skill, jealousy, bad manners (not saying please or thank you ), don’t behave like you own someone’s body, soul and mind and so treat them you like. Temper tantrums, Gossip, Violence e.t.c. but the thing is, all of these things can be worked on if you are open to. But because of this same phrase a lot of boys and men know this but will still be like this is how I am, I can’t change it jence the same phrase “men will always be men”.

@drdolorofficial eased the tension in the social media space by making humor of the glasses she wore in the video as he wrote “As you wear glass I come fear, thank God I’m Daddy and Father. I nor dey that men league”.

dozzywellpharm’s countered her saying “U think it’s only women suffer in marriage bah,go and sit down.”

Mesmirewilson also responding said: “A sad reality indeed. And grown ass humans refusing to unlearn and relearn. Somehow teach them young seems to be getting lost in translation too. Sad”

@tillys_skincareng wrote “This is true on all forms. Very scary and sad. That’s how we are raising bad human beings.”
