Pak-Africa Trade Development expo to hold in Lagos this November

November 8,2021
Share:

The second Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference and Single Country Exhibition will take place this November in Lagos.

The event will see a range of leading exporters from Pakistan coming to showcase their products while looking for business partnerships with Nigerian companies.

Industry sectors which will be represented at the event include pharmaceuticals, beauty and cosmetics, automotive parts, agricultural machinery, chemicals and paints, food and beverages, textiles, services, kitchenware, electronics and much more.

The Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Pakistan’s High Commission to Nigeria are organising the trade event which is being managed by BtoB Events.

It will begin with an invitation-only trade conference and gala dinner on November 23rd while the exhibition will take place on November 24th and 25th at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre on Victoria Island.

Nigeria and Pakistan are working to develop bilateral trade worth a potential $1 billion, having seen exports from Pakistan to Nigeria increase by 40% already in the post-Covid era. Earlier this year, H.E. General (Rtd) Muhammad Tayyab Azam, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Nigeria, and H.E. Mr Abioye Muhammed Bello, Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, talked of the huge untapped potential in business sectors such as pharmaceuticals, information technology, textiles and agricultural machinery and products.

Jamie Hill, Managing Director of BtoB Events, said his events company is delighted to be helping Nigeria and Pakistan work together to rebuild trade between the two countries.
“People should attend Pak-Africa Trade Development Exhibition to meet with a wide range of companies from Pakistan.

They will be coming here to find new partners and distributors who can represent their company and products across Nigeria,” he said. “In a time where travel is difficult this is particularly important for traders across Nigeria to attend.”

The Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan, launched its Look Africa Policy in 2017-18 to enhance collaboration with African countries. Under this initiative, the First Pakistan Africa Trade Development Conference took place in Nairobi, Kenya, in January 2020, and the forthcoming event in Lagos is a continuation of the policy.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce is also arranging for a delegation of around 100 public and private organisations from ECOWAS countries to attend the event.
The Trade and Investment Attaché of Pakistan in Nigeria stated that Pakistan’s products are recognised among the top quality products from across the world and that he is hopeful that this event will develop new investment opportunities between Pakistan, Nigeria and the wider nations of the ECOWAS.

BtoB Events are among the region’s largest event organisers and will be familiar to Nigerians for shows such as Beauty West Africa (BWA), Food and Beverage West Africa (FABWA) and the West Africa Auto Show (WAAS).

The company celebrated a successful return to events following the pandemic with the latest edition of FABWA having taken place in September.
