Actress Funke Akindele teases fans on becoming ‘hypeman’
Looks like filmmaker and actor, Funke Akindele Bello is considering being a hyperman.
On Tuesday, the ace role interpreter joked that she would be considering a job as a hypeman.
On her Instagram story, she told her fans that she hoped to add the hypeman duties to her job as an actor because it would help her earn more.
A ‘hypeman’ is a popular term used for a praise singer who works as Masters of Ceremonies at parties and clubs to hype attendees and bring more life to the party through jokes and banters.
The popular actress said that actors do not make any money except they are before the camera, and on the screen, while hypemen get to party and earn money.
She said, “So I heard hypemen now make big money, asides from the club. They come for birthday parties and the rest, and they make a lot of money. So on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, they are busy. Some people even have their birthdays on Wednesdays.
“So I have been thinking about adding hyping to my career. This acting, if you are not behind the camera you won’t make any money. I am willing to learn from established hypemen as a trainee.”
