Buju now ‘BNXN’

Nigerian singer, born Daniel Benson but popularly known as Buju, has changed his stage name to ‘BNXN’.

The music star, announced the change of name in a Twitter post on Friday.

The singer wrote;

“It’s no longer “Buju” Call me “Benson” written as ‘BNXN,”

Although, Buju didn’t exactly reveal why he changed his stage name.

However, the organic search results for the keyword “Buju” often include web activities relating to Buju Banton, the Jamaican reggae-dancehall singer.

In 2019 Buju, now BNXN, was nominated for the ‘Rookie of the Year’ category at The Headies 2019.

He won the City People Entertainment Awards for the ‘Revelation of the Year’s category in 2020.

Further, he featured on the top-charting single ‘Feeling’ by Ladipoe and the song ‘Bling’ by Blaqbonez in 2021.

Also, in August, he was featured on the deluxe edition of Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ album alongside Justin Bieber.

Buju’s collaboration with Wizkid on ‘Mood’ earned him a number one spot on UK Afrobeats Singles Chart.

In December, Wizkid debuted the ‘Made In Lagos (The Deluxe)’ short film, starring Buju.
