Abdulrosheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo, has welcomed his new wife, Firdaus Abdullahi, from Kano state.
Videos of the Osun monarch dancing towards his new queen surfaced on social media on Saturday.
An invitation to the ceremony had earlier indicated that the monarch would wed Abdullahi on March 19.
The event held at the residence of the Madakin Kano, Yola Quarters, Kano.
After the wedding, a reception strictly for ladies followed at the palace of Aminu Bayero, the Emir of Kano.
“History made: Royalty weds royalty. A great wife, matrimonial material and morally upright princes becoming a queen,” he said.
“The glory is not only mine alone. It belongs to all of us who trust in our ways, an undiluted monarchy that resigns only to God, The creator.”
“We reference God for everything. Alase lori orisa 1 Arole olodumare 1 Paramount ruler of Iwoland.”

Firdaus is a daughter of Abdullahi Sarki Sani Yola, the late Madakin Kano, and a granddaughter of late Emir Ado Bayero.
Oluwo was previously married to Chanel Chin, a Jamaican woman. The union, however, hit the rocks in 2019.
