Actor, Johnny Depp to return to screen after legal fight
In the upcoming film “La Favourite,” Johnny Depp is set to make his acting comeback as Louis XV of France.
With his ex-wife Amber Heard, the Hollywood star has been involved in a protracted slander dispute.
Depp’s first film project after his ex accused him of domestic abuse will be the movie La Favourite.
According to Bloomberg, Netflix and France have agreed to stream “La Favourite” 15 months after its theatrical debut.
However, because the movie is not a Netflix original, the streaming service is not paying for its creation.
This summer, Maiwenn Le Besco’s project is expected to spend more than three months on set.
Depp’s role in the 2020 movie Minamata, directed by American Andrew Levitas, will be followed by La Favorite.
Depp won his case against Heard, which had gone to trial on April 11 and concluded on June 1.
Accusing Heard of “name-calling” that frequently turned physical, he had sued her for defamation.
The actor said Heard’s 2018 article on domestic violence in The Washington Post implied he was aggressive.
Though Heard omitted the actor’s name, Depp’s attorneys claimed that her claims made it impossible for him to get acting jobs.
