Kizz Daniel breaks silence on arrest, apologises, announces free show to make up
Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, best known by his stage name Kizz Daniel, has apologized to his fans for missing a Sunday performance in Tanzania.
This comes after the Buga hitmaker was detained by Tanzanian law enforcement on August 8 in Dar es Salaam for refusing to perform at the concert after being paid.
The singer allegedly declined to perform because the airline forgot to carry his bag holding his gold chains, and he maintained he would not play unless he was wearing all of his gold chains, according to the show’s promoter, who made this claim in an interview.
Kizz Daniel gave his side of the story, expressed regret to his fans, and promised a free gig on Friday during a press conference on Tuesday evening.
In the video, he said:
“The people were already going wild; the fans were going wild, which I know was out of love. So no disrespect to the fans… I was asked to stay back. ‘You can’t go’, ‘It’s not safe’. So I said ok. I sat down with the team, the organisers, the promoters; let’s come up with a way to make it up to the Tanzanian fans and we decided to do a makeup show for free. I even agreed to partner with them this time around.
This Friday, a free show; I will be partnering with Straight Up Vibes to make that happen. I must apologize to the fans. None of this was intentional.”
