Broke people should leave relationships, focus on development – Deyemi Okanlawon
Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has advised people who are not financially buoyant to avoid getting into serious relationships. In a tweet on Tuesday, the actor urged those who are not yet financially stable to take a break from a serious relationship and focus on developing themselves.
He wrote;
If you’re not yet financially buoyant, perhaps it is wise to take a break from a serious relationship and focus on building yourself… this message from the federal association of common sense is for men & women.
The actor, however, clarified that people are free to love and date anyone at any stage of their lives if they so choose. He advised that for more serious relationships, people should approach things differently.
Everyone should feel free to love and date anyone at any time/stage of their lives if they so choose… but perhaps for more serious (intentional, committed) relationships, you may want to approach things slightly differently?
Deyemi further explained that being financially buoyant means being able to take care of oneself, have savings and assets, and still have some to give to those who raised them. He added that having some spare money would help ease the burden in any relationship.
He added;
Financially buoyant – enough to take care of yourself, have some savings/assets, have some to give to those who raised you, & finally have some to spare to give ease in your relationship. No, be this level professional leeches/diggers (m/f) dey find & you sef must learn to code yourself!
