IWD 2023: Maximise use of tech to build your businesses, Siju Iluyomade urges women

Nigerian women have been encouraged to maximise the use of technology in their day-to-day business activities for faster results.

Convener of Arise Women and Handmaiden “Women in Leadership” Dr Siju Iluyomade gave this charge while addressing women during a special edition of Handmaidens “Women in Leadership’ to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD), at an event held in the City of David Sanctuary, Oniru Victoria Island, Lagos on Wednesday.

The theme of this year’s celebration is DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality.

Speaking on the topic “Leading Women Leveraging Technology In Market Place” Dr Iluyomade noted women have made untold contributions to the digital world in which we increasingly live. Their accomplishments, she added, have been against all odds, in a field that has historically neither welcomed nor appreciated them.

She observed that though a persistent gender gap in digital access keeps women from unlocking technology’s full potential, there must be gender equality in the technology and digital world because women have consistently played leadership roles in developing new initiatives that have continued to change the global space.
