Red Carpet Rules

Whether your name features on the invite of a premium event or you are playing the host yourself, a red carpet event isnt just any event to prepare for.

Its one place where you have a combination of all the fashion industry experts, from makeup artists to designers, stylists, hair stylists and more.

Its therefore loaded with rules unwritten and coded rules, which must be adhered to. Sleep on any of these rules and you risk becoming victim to the prying eyes of the fashion police. Learn here some of those rules.

Thou Shall Wear The Right Amount Of Makeup
Theres arguably no other place on earth where your makeup needs to be as perfect as it does on the red carpet. Unfortunately, in an attempt to look great, many women go overboard with their makeup and end up ruining their entire look. Keep things minimal.

Thou Shall Compliment All Outfits With Classy Heels
This may not have appeared in writing in any law book and there may be no specification about height and size, but it has remained an unspoken requirement for every red carpet event. For example, wearing heels is the known standard for the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival. Heels add instant sophistication to any outfit.

Thou Shall Show The Right Amount Of Skin
Yes, youve put in some serious work into making your skin glow and you want to show that off with some exposure. One thing to however always remember is that less is always more and the red carpet is one place where this greatly applies. There is the amount of exposure that is considered too much and outright inappropriate. Instead, seek to simply highlight a few areas..

Thou Shall Not Over Accessorise
When it comes to accessorising for the red carpet, less is always more and small is always better. One rule to always remember is that subtle earrings such as a delicate stud or drop pearl earring will do the job without any fuss.

Thou Shall Wear Classic Designer Perfumes
This is one platform where you must make a statement with everything and that includes your fragrance; they must speak class. Designer perfumes are alluring and last longer as a result of their high quality.

Fa

Thou Shall Carry A Clutch Purse
Ditch your over-sized bag if you want to look as stylish as possible. Luxury clutches have become the norm with red carpets and they are perfect for carrying essentials for the night, including lipstick and house keys.
