Brand Spotlight: TranquilTide Couture

TranquilTide Couture is a fashion business that specializes in crafting head-turning pieces for men that are often simple yet multi-functional. The brand has released several collections that have captured the hearts of minimalists and other fashion lovers alike.

TranquilTide makes use of fabrics such as Plain and patterned fabrics of cotton, Crepe, Wool, Ankara, Adire etc. The designs are usually shirts, shorts and trousers of different designs to achieve a full set of a wardrobe essentials.

The brand which was founded and run by Akunna Thelma Ajoku can be driven by the need to create simple, timeless yet comfortable wears for the men.

Thelma explained that this stems from the fact that many people make clothes that are heavily embroidered or foreign branded for men and as such, some men are left unattended to because they cannot get their style which can often be minimalist in nature.

One of her latest collection was The Fredrick Collection which was released recently was made for the minimalist men.

There were reviews about the collection from men who do not like minimalism and one of such review was that the collection provided designs that can be paired with other collections or even other regular wears.

These comments lend credence to the fact that the brand is fast positioning itself as a brand that pays attention to multi-functional designs as it as always presented itself to be.

Thelma’s affinity for Fabric sourcing, pattern making and tailoring has helped her immensely in building TranquilTide Couture from a simple sewing brand to a ready-to-wear Fashionpreneur.

Thelma is equally devoted to learning about newer trends in fashion and she mostly does this by attending fashion shows, events and even classes for fashion designers so as to enable her to keep herself and by extension, her brand up-to-speed about happenings in the fashion world.

It is worthy to note that the brand will go ahead to do more but one can not help but admit that the brand owner’s strong interest in learning new things makes the brand fit for the future of Fashion.

This means that the brand can be regarded as one of the brands to watch out for in the next few years.

Some of the clothing pieces of the brand are made in such a way that they find a way to merge previous trends with newer ones to create timeless fashion designs thus one can not expect less from such a brand.
