British monarchy prepares for coronation of King and Queen consort
The royal family of England has announced the date of the coronation of the King and Queen consort. The event, which is one of the most significant in the history of the British monarchy, will take place on May 6, 2023, at the Abbey Church of Westminster.
The announcement was made via the royal family’s official Instagram page, where they revealed the official invitation for the ceremony.
The invitation, designed by Andrew Jamieson, features the motif of the Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore, symbolic of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new reign.
The design of the invitation is truly remarkable, and it includes various elements that are symbolic of the UK and the royal family, as the invitation features the Majesties’ arms, the emblematic flowers of the UK, and a British wildflower meadow and wildlife.
The design was hand-painted in watercolour and gouache and will be reproduced and printed on recycled cards, with gold foil detailing, for the 2,000 guests.
The coronation of the King and Queen consort will undoubtedly be a significant moment in the history of the British monarchy.
