“I acted out of character”, Don Jazzy speaks on altercation with Olamide
Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has finally opened up about the infamous altercation between him and Olamide a.k.a Baddo, at the 2015 Headies.
The music mogul, whose real name is Michael Ajereh, expressed his regret over the incident during a podcast with former Big Brother Naija housemate, Doyin David.
Recall that during the 2015 Headies awards, Olamide was upset that his signee, Lil Kesh, did not win the Next Rated award, which instead went to Don Jazzy’s artist, Reekado Banks.
Olamide took to the stage to express his displeasure and Don Jazzy responded by telling him to come and collect the car if he wanted it.
In the podcast interview, Don Jazzy admitted that his actions were out of character and that he regretted the incident.
He also disclosed that he had already apologized to both the organizers of the event and Olamide.
“I have come to realize that I acted out of character on that day, and I regret it. I have since apologized to the organizers of the event, and also to Olamide,” Don Jazzy said.
The incident caused a stir in the Nigerian music industry at the time, with fans and celebrities taking sides.
However, Don Jazzy’s apology has been welcomed by many, who believe that it is time to move on from the incident.
