Thomas Markle makes heartfelt plea to daughter Meghan on American television
In a heartfelt plea broadcast on American television, Thomas Markle has made a public appeal to his daughter and wife of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, to heal their fractured relationship.
The Royal Family has been the subject of much media attention in recent years, with none more so than the tumultuous relationship between Meghan Markle and her father.
In an interview with Channel 7 News, Meghan’s father and siblings Samantha and Thomas Jr. shared their memories of the Duchess of Sussex and revealed some home truths about her life before she became a royal.
Samantha stated that “Meghan would still be a waitress without our father”, but Thomas took a different approach, making a deathbed plea to his daughter to mend their relationship.
“How can I fix this? I am lucky to be alive,” he stated, alluding to the health issues he has faced in recent years. Despite their estrangement, Meghan has also expressed concern for her father’s well-being, according to a report in The Mirror.
“She wants to know if there is any way to contact her father privately, without other family knowing about it or having to get involved,” the report said.
The Markle family’s struggles have played out in the public eye, with Meghan and Thomas Markle’s relationship being heavily scrutinized since before the Duchess married Prince Harry.
Despite this, there is still hope for reconciliation between father and daughter.
In the end, it is the bonds of family that matter most, and it is never too late to try to mend them.
