Tunde Kelani, the renowned Nigerian movie maker, has announced the upcoming release of the sequel to his classic 1999 film, ‘Saworoide’.

The filmmaker took to his Instagram page to share the news with his fans on Thursday.

He wrote; “When there is a cultural vacuum, moral and mental decay follows. ‘Saworoide 2’ (New movie) coming soon.”

The new movie, titled ‘Saworoide 2’, aims to fill a cultural void that could lead to moral and mental decay in society.

The original movie tells the story of Jogbo, a small Nigerian town plagued by a corrupt and powerful king. ‘Saworoide’ explores themes of power, corruption, and justice in a society where the voices of the people are often silenced.

The film featured a star-studded cast, including Kola Oyewo, Bukky Wright, Lere Paimo, Larinde Akinleye, Peter Fatomilola, Kunle Bamtefa, Adebayo Faleti, Kayode Olaiya, Doyin Hassan, Kunle Afolayan, and Kabirat Kafidipe.
