Homemade Face Masks For Dull Skin

Facial masks are one of the easiest ways to get healthy and supple skin within a few minutes.

From refined skin pores to increased hydration, diminished fine lines, even skin tone and firmer skin, the benefits are endless.

Their application takes only a few seconds, and then you just have to wait for 15 to 20 minutes to wash them off. Some, you can sleep in, though.

Applying a face mask also helps you to relax as you get the time to relax while your face mask is working. This helps to de-stress and that alone can make you look and feel better! It is therefore highly recommended to include applying a face mask to your skin care routine.
When you get half an hour to yourself, try these safe, refreshing homemade face masks for a sure shot of freshness for your skin. Even your dermatologist will approve of these ingredients..

  1. Avocado and Honey Mask
This is great for dry skin and really supereasy to recreate. Avocados are full of fatty acids, which help soothe and moisturise your dry skin barrier, while honey is a natural hydrator and astringent used to treat acne and inflammatory skin conditions.

Ingredients:
Half an avocado, mashed
1 tablespoon honey

Mix and mash the two together, apply all over your face, and wash off after 10 to 20 minutes..

  1. Egg White and Aloe Vera Mask
If you’re battling oily skin, then this is a must-try for you. It is great for helping to absorb excess oil. Egg whites contain a natural antibacterial that can help prevent clogged pores while absorbing excess oil; and aloe, of course, is an MVP in the calming, soothing, and hydrating departments.

Ingredients:
1 egg white
2 tablespoons fresh aloe (or a pinch of aloe vera gel)

Mix the ingredients, apply unto your face, leave for 10 minutes, then rinse off.

  1. Turmeric Mask
The magical ingredient here is turmeric, which is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that’s been studied to gently brighten discoloration while killing microorganisms on your skin.

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoons plain yogurt (or olive oil, or your favorite face oil)

Add a bit of yogurt or oil to the turmeric, keep the mixture on your skin for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse off, followed by your usual face wash.

  1. Banana Mask
Bananas are a sort of genius for homemade face masks. They are loaded with potassium, vitamin B-6, vitamin C, and vitamin A, making them great for moisturising, brightening, and even temporarily plumping fine lines.
When combined with other ingredients like anti-inflammatory honey, soothing yogurt, and brightening turmeric, it becomes a pretty powerful recipe.

Ingredients:
1 ripe banana
1/2 teaspoon raw honey
1 teaspoon full-fat yogurt
1 pinch of turmeric

Use equal parts banana and banana peel. Gently slice the peel with a knife, mash the banana with a fork, and mix in the remaining ingredients until you’ve got a yellow paste. Apply a thin layer over clean skin, leave for 10 minutes, and apply moisturiser after rinsing off.

  1. Coffee Mask
Are you surprised to hear that coffee isn’t just for boosting your mood in the morning? Thanks to its caffeine content and gritty texture, it exfoliates the skin and also awakens it.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon fine coffee
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon cold water
Combine 1 tablespoon of fine coffee powder with 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cold water. Massage unto face in a circular motion. Leave to dry for 30 minutes then wash off with cold water.
