Plus Size Fashion Week Africa 2023: The Collections
By – Yemisi Suleiman
After a three years break, occasioned by the Covid19 pandemic, the Plus Size Fashion Week Africa, PFWAfrica, held a welcome-back soiree for influencers and collaborators in the Plus size community over the weekend, at the Good Beach in Lagos.

Aimed at promoting and celebrating Plus size fashion in Africa, the show featured collections from plus-size designers and models across Africa and the UK.
Big, bold and curvy models sashayed the runway in glamorous couture pieces with a mix of sequins, lace and other luscious fabrics, specifically designed to enhance their figures.
From evening dresses, daytime look to sexy lingeries, the designers paid attention to body shape, teaching the curvey woman to dress right and dress her body shape, while also bridging the gap by puting the real needs of the average African woman on the runway.
Established about six years ago by Temi Aboderin Alao, CEO of JP Kouture by Hadassah, to champion the course of Curvy women, the brand has continued to create visibility, as well as building confidence for plus size women in Nigeria over the years.
Here are some collections from the event.
