Patriotic Independence Day beauty looks to try

It’s Independence Day, a unique day in Nigeria’s history that, yearly, reminds of freedom. A day to proudly wear over your face your pride the green and white, as a display of your sense of patriotism. So, how about creating a patriotic beauty look?

One fantastic way to celebrate the occasion, therefore, will be to incorporate the colours of the Nigerian flag (green and white) into your makeup and hairstyle.

So, let your looks symbolise that freedom as you try out the following beauty ideas.

1 Two-colour eyeshadow

Create a striking eyeshadow look using green and white. You can apply green on the inner corner, white or intense silver on the center of the lid, and green on the outer corner. Blend the colours seamlessly for a bold yet balanced effect. You can also try using white on the inner corner and then green on the outer corner of your lids.

2 Flag-inspired nails
Create a flag-inspired nail art. Paint each nail a different colour representing the Nigerian flag. You can also create intricate designs with patriotic motifs. Take the look a notch higher by adding some diamonds and rhinestones.

3 Hair accessories
Incorporate green and white hair accessories into your hairstyle. This could be in the form of ribbons, headbands or clips.

4 Green hairdo
A fantastic way to show your patriotism is to sport a bold green hairdo. You can choose one with a touch of silver for some extra glam. Try this out with hair extensions or temporary hair colour sprays.

5 Patriotic eyeliner
Draw a thin line of green, followed by white, and then green above your upper lash line. You can extend the green liner slightly for a winged effect. For a simpler look, only draw a thin line of green underneath your lower eyelids. Keep the rest of your makeup minimal.

6 Green smokey eyes
Draw a wing on your eyelid to start.
Then apply green eyeshadow over the area. Eyeshadow should be rubbed in until  it gets to the edges of the wing. Apply a silver highlighter for some glitters.

7 Vamp-inspired lip
Rock a bold dark green lipstick to make a statement. Remember, however, to pair this look with minimal eye makeup to keep the focus on your lips.

8 Glitters
Apply green glitters to your eyelids. This can add a festive touch to your look.
