6 colours that go with everything in your wardrobe
By Josephine Agbonkhese
Plenty of other basic colours work just as perfectly as your ubiquitous numero-uno basic— black. And trust us, they would effortlessly serve any capsule wardrobe. Just try out more colours on this list if one fails to go with one of your more patterned or bold pieces.
White

White can offer the perfect blank canvas with which to build the rest of your look. White tops, for example, always look great with jeans, shorts, and a skirt.
Tan

Tan goes well with all manner of colours. Ever wondered why the colour of the classic trench coat is tan? It’s so it can be thrown over literally everything.
Olive

The olive green might be a couple shades brighter than black but trust us, it can be worn just like black, either as a stylish piece of outerwear, a base layer, or paired with lighter hues like white and beige.
Navy

This is the blood sister to black, which means there should be almost no contemplating. It fits well with both plain and patterned pieces.
Powder blue

You’d prefer something lighter? Then go for powder blue instead of navy. Powder blue is mild enough to be worn even in place of white.
Burgundy

Burgundy is a an impressive neutral. Like brown, olive, and navy, it’s a few shades brighter than black but can be worn just like black.
