Ebube Mbonu, a renowned advocate for inclusive development and social justice, has commended the President’s commitment to prioritizing the marginalized community.

Speaking during the Salah message to the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he emphasized the announcement by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, on the upcoming launch of the ‘Beyond Disability Project’ on June 27, 2024, at the State House Banquet Hall.

This initiative aims to promote awareness and implementation of disability prohibition laws in Nigeria. The project will also institute a N5 billion naira intervention fund for the development of the special skills and resources abundant with the vast population of over 30 million people living with disabilities in Nigeria.

To actualize this project, a committee on contact, finance mobilization, and strategy development was inaugurated on June 7, 2024. The committee members, appointed by the President, include:

  • Dr. David Ogbonna Chitas
  • Ebube Mbonu
  • Mr. Gwongon Dung Gyang
  • Valentine Ugochukwu Ani Zhyon
  • Mr. Otuu Ndukwe Nathan

Ebube Mbonu urged people of goodwill and friends of the government to support the project for inclusive development and social justice, promising the project support partners benefits such as recommendation for national honors awards, special projects considerations, visibility through project activities, and other classified benefits.

Mr Ebube Mbonu also emphasized the need for economic relief initiatives like the Beyond Disability Project to all other sensitive segments and sectors of the nation’s economy, to complement recent economic and fiscal policies of the federal government, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
