Amazing travel destinations in Africa

Last week, we started a series on amazing travel destinations in Africa to help you realise there are hundreds of equally enjoyable travel destinations in this continent.

From ancient sites of Egypt to historic sites and towns of Nigeria and Cape Town where many travelers have made beautiful memories which we brought you last week, this week, we bring you more destinations in Africa which promise to be the perfect blend of ancient and modern, wild and urban, and East and West.

Sites and cities of Morocco
It’s time you put Morocco on your bucket list if you’ve never experienced the country.
Apart from some of the many beautiful places to visit in Morocco, the country also transcends you to a culture and lifestyle that can rarely be experienced anywhere today.
You can kick off your adventure with a trip to seaside Asilah which is situated on Morocco’s North Atlantic coast. Seaside Asilah is actually popular amongst tourists and citizens as a hot summer spot. Apart from its sandy beaches, the city walls covered in colourful murals also make this city one of the top places to visit! You also get to enjoy the town’s vibrant annual festival in August; that’s next month. Meknes, a ninth century Medina; High Atlas, a paradise for trekkers; and the bustling city of Marrakech are other great destinations to experience in Morocco. Don’t forget Casablanca which promises a blend of modernity and pure culture.

‍Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls is one of the world’s largest and most famous jaw-dropping waterfalls. Located about midway along the course of the Zambezi River at the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, it is a natural wonder to behold; especially for its roaring waters and the misty rainbows they create. Popular vantage points include the Knife-Edge Bridge, Livingstone Island and Devil’s Pool. When you’re not enjoying the view from above, go whitewater rafting in the Zambezi River, to admire the falls from a different angle.

Mt. Kilimanjaro National Park
Located in Tanzania, Mt. Kilimanjaro is the fourth most topographically prominent peak on earth. It is a part of Kilimanjaro’s National Park and is a major hiking and climbing destination. The National Park which harbours quite a number of wildlife species, also offers varied treks catering to different fitness levels, all promising stunning views and diverse ecosystems. The park is home to over 150 bird species; good news for bird lovers, and you also get a chance to experience its most popular activity—hiking, as you hike up Africa’s tallest mountain—one reason for which thousands of tourists visit the country.
