How to plan a beach vacation on a budget

Imagine lounging on a beach with the soothing sound of waves, warm sun on your skin, soft sand beneath your feet, and cocktail in hand, without a care in the world?

But for many of us, the thought of a luxurious beach getaway often comes with a hefty price tag attached. Now, imagine experiencing all this without breaking the bank; yes, it’s possible to plan a perfect beach vacation on a budget! Here, we show you how to.

Timing is Everything
One of the best ways to save on a beach vacation is to travel during the off-season. Not only will you find better deals on accommodations and flights, but you’ll also enjoy fewer crowds.

Look Beyond the Tourist Hotspots
Popular beach destinations often come with inflated prices. Instead, consider lesser-known coastal areas that offer similar beauty. There are so many widely known for their affordability.

Use Flight Comparison Tools
If going by air, utilise flight comparison websites and tools to find the best deals. Websites like Skyscanner, Google Flights, and, of course, the Expedia app can help you compare prices across different airlines and dates.

Find Budget-Friendly Accommodations
There are several budget-friendly accommodation options to consider once at your destination. Many beach destinations have hostels that provide clean and comfortable accommodations at a fraction of the cost of hotels. Some all-inclusive resorts also offer great deals, especially during off-peak times.

Save on Dining and Drinking
If you have access to a kitchen, take advantage of it by cooking some of your own meals. Visit local grocery stores or markets to buy fresh ingredients and experience the local cuisine.

Look for Happy Hours and Specials
Many restaurants and bars offer happy hours or daily specials. These can be a great way to enjoy local cuisine and drinks without overspending.

Manage Your Budget
Determine a daily budget for your trip and stick to it. This will help you manage your finances and ensure you don’t overspend.

Affordable Transportation
Look into public transportation options at your destination. Many beach towns have reliable and affordable bus or shuttle services.
