Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, is set to launch 50 legacy projects in celebration of his 50th birthday, a move that is unprecedented among Nigerian monarchs.

The Ooni, who is also the spiritual and cultural head of the Yoruba race, is known for his intentionality and desire to leave an indelible mark in history.

Although traditional norms dictate that the Ooni should not celebrate his birthday, his subjects from around the world, including Nigeria, the Caribbean, and Brazil, have planned to celebrate him with pomp and pageantry. However, what is most important to the monarch are the 50 projects he has decided to launch in commemoration of his birthday milestone.

These projects, the Ooni disclosed cut across various sectors such as education, health, and youth empowerment, are aimed at positively impacting society.

From now until the actual birthday date, which is Thursday, October 17, 2024, there will be an increasing crescendo of project launches that will leave everyone, especially critics, in awe.
