Fashion royalty gathered last Friday as Banke Kuku unveiled her 2025 collection tagged ‘Oceans Front Row’ proudly supported by Polo. The glamorous event hosted at the Cube Victoria Island Lagos, highlighted Nigeria’s marine ecosystems and advocates for ocean conservation.

Kuku’s designs featured eco-friendly materials and production methods, reflecting the growing commitment to environmental responsibility in the fashion industry.

Speaking at the event Nigeria’s First Lady Mrs Oluremi Tinubu represented by the first Lady of Kwara State Olufolake Abdulrazaq, commended Banke Kuku for advocating and infusing environmental sustainability into her designs in an effort to promote climate-friendly collection. “As the name implies ‘Ocean” the collection unveiled today, no doubt the beauty of Nigeria’s marine ecosystem and bids for its conservation, while consciously building on her fantastic reputation and leveraging intriguing stories into her designs.”

Chika Nnadozie Head of marketing Polo, a sponsor and avid supporter of Kuku’s brand over the years, noted the collaboration was necessary as both brands advocate for sustainability in the fashion industry. She added that the brand uses marketing channels to educate customers about the importance of sustainability in fashion. “We create content that explain the impact of fast fashion and the benefits of purchasing sustainable products. And we partner with environmental fashion shows like this, because we both influence and advocate for sustainability. Collaborative collections can draw attention to both the brand and the cause.” says Nnadozie.
Guests were delighted as they witnessed models displaying the Oceans collection on the runway. This collection was characterized by a breathtaking colour palette and textures inspired by the marine environment.
