The wedding of international music superstar Davido and his longtime partner, Chioma, was a global sensation in June 2024. Dubbed #Chivido, the union captivated the world with its grandeur and star-studded guest list.
The celebrations, a dazzling blend of traditional Nigerian customs and modern elegance, unfolded across multiple events. The traditional rites, held at the prestigious Eko Hotel in Lagos, witnessed the presence of dignitaries including Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and the Ooni of Ife.

Chidimma Adetshina’s Shot at Miss Universe

Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina is a Nigerian beauty pageant title holder who won Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.
She proceeded to Mexico for Miss Universe World, where she emerged as the first-ever Miss Africa and Oceania, a new title awarded by a panel of Miss Universe judges.
She was also first runner-up at Miss Universe, earning Nigeria’s highest placement in the pageant’s 73-year history.
It was a tumultuous journey for the 23-year-old, who almost didn’t reach the Miss Universe stage after she withdrew from Miss South Africa following online attacks about her heritage.
Nwajagu Samuel became Mister International

This year, Nigerian model Nwajagu Samuel became the first African and Nigerian to win the prestigious Mister International title.
Samuel’s victory came after a fierce competition against 46 contestants from around the globe at the 16th Mister International pageant, held on December 14, 2024, at the Island Hall, Fashion Island in Bangkok, Thailand.
Crowned by his predecessor, Kim Thitisan Goodburn of Thailand, Samuel’s win marks a significant landmark in the pageant’s history.
Mike Ejeagha Honoured

Forty years after he introduced the world to his genre of music, highlife folklore, legendary highlife singer Mike Ejeagha’s 1983 hit, Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche (Gwo Gwo Gwo) went viral, thanks to skit maker Brain Jotter.
In his honour, the Enugu State Government inaugurated four newly constructed and reconstructed roads in Abakpa Nike, including the newly renamed Mike Ejeagha, formerly Obinagu Road.
The road leading to the legendary musician’s residence was rebuilt earlier in the year in recognition of his contributions to the state’s cultural heritage.
Mo Abudu turned 60

The CEO of Ebonylife Group, Mo Abudu, marked her 60th birthday with quite a remarkable occasion.
In celebration of her grand party-themed “1960s Fun Couture”, celebrities, dignitaries, and well-wishers from around the globe gathered to honour one of Africa’s leading lights in media and entertainment.
Building up to the grand celebration, Abudu kept fans in awe by rocking 10 stunning outfits in a very elaborate photo shoot that showed her poise, youth and grace.
Ugo Ugochukwu made history

Ugo Ugochukwu made history by winning the inaugural Formula Regional event at the Macau Grand Prix, joining legends like Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher as champions of the iconic Guia Circuit.
The 17-year-old American made his Macao debut last year when mistakes cost him a better position in the race. Determined to improve, he reflected on his 2023 performance and returned with a winning mindset in 2024, going on to take the trophy.
Ugochukwu was born in New York to Oluchi, a Nigerian fashion model mother, and Luca Orlandi, an Italian fashion designer.
