The 12th edition of the GAH Awards, held last Sunday, was a spectacular event that brought together influential guests from various fields, including politics, business, and entertainment. This year’s theme, “Against All Odds,” shone a spotlight on leaders driving transformative change and sustainable growth in Africa.

Guests at the event

In a high octane ceremony laced with glam, glitz and panache, the night-honoured several notable individuals, including Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), former Labour Party governorship candidate for Lagos” Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV), Ayodeji James Ibitoye, Nnamdi Ezeigbo, CEO of Slot System, Wakawaka Doctor. Dr Chima Anyaso: Chairman CEO Cades Group, Prince Adedapo Oluwaseyi Adelegan CEO Celtron Nigeria Ltd, and Lawyer and politician Dr Surajudeen Basiru.

Keynote Speaker Prof. Lere Baale, while delivering his address, discussed three pillars of transformation: transforming economic hardship, fostering collaborations, and promoting social inclusion. He encouraged building resilience, fostering collaborations, and promoting social inclusion to ensure a sustainable and equitable future.

Dr Oghene, Nana Akua Addo and Amaka Okeke Lawal

For the Vissioner and Founder of the Gah Awards, Dr Princess Oghene Kelechi, the theme of this year’s Awards encapsulates the very essence of what it means to build a legacy that lasts, to rise above adversity, and to create opportunities where others might see obstacles. Oghene emphasized that these values are the driving force behind the remarkable individuals and businesses recognized at the awards.

The event also featured the unveiling of Dr. Oghene’s book, “Against All Odds: Global GAH Awards Chronicles,” which showcases stories of resilience and determination. Dr. Oghene noted, “tonight, as we unveil this book, we are not just celebrating past accomplishments; we are laying the foundation for future success.”
