Inner Wheel Club fetes elderly at Christmas
In a heartwarming display of generosity and in the spirit of the season, Inner Wheel Club of Gbagada-Ifako, District 911, has organised a memorable Christmas celebration for the elderly residents around Ifako-Ijaiye community.
The event was held at the MD Schools’ premises in Abule-Egba on Wednesday, December 18.
Tagged “Elders hangout”, it was indeed a memorable time for all the attendees, many of whom were 60 years and above, as they were treated to health talk, sumptuous meal, drinks, soft oldies music and dance.

Speaking at the event, Heartbeat of Humanity District Chairman, Princess Adenike Sodipo, who was visiting the host for the first time since her induction, noted that Inner Wheel Club is dedicated to touching lives; bringing smiles to people’s faces, and generally giving back to the society.

She added that Christmas is not merely about exchanging gifts but also about sharing love, warmth, and ensuring that everyone feels acknowledged and cherished. Which is why the event is being organised.
She urged beneficiaries to go home with the mindset of sharing love with others, too.
She commended members of the club for their effort at ensuring the elderly shared in the joy of the season by organising the programme.

Also speaking, Charter President Mrs Omolara Adedugbe counselled the attendees on the need to be more cautious of their health.
She said: “Taking care of your health is important at this age. You need to be more observant of your system. Once you notice any changes, visit the hospital. Avoid self-mediation. Also, note that the foods and drinks that make up a healthy diet for you may be slightly different from when you were younger. Eat healthy and drink plenty of water.”

At the end of the day, all those who attended went home with food stuff like rice garri and a token to allow them to have a good time during the yuletide season.
