Global passport ranking indicates that Nigerian passport holders have limited access to many countries without a visa or with visa-on-arrival options; a circumstance restricting global mobility and access to diverse opportunities for many Nigerians.

The good news, however, is that there are still several countries outside Africa where Nigerian passport holders can travel without a visa for varying periods.

Here are some of them.

Kiribati

The Republic of Kiribati is an island country in the Micronesia subregion of Oceania in the central Pacific Ocean. Consisting of 33 islands of which only 20 are inhabited, Kiribati is home to the South Pacific’s largest marine reserve. Nigerians do not need a visa to visit Kiribati as long as they have their Nigerian passport and are not staying for more than 90 days.

Dominica

Officially the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dominica is an island country in the Caribbean known for its natural attractions. Nigerians can visit Dominica for up to six months without a visa. Sources say the country also offers a Citizenship by Investment program, which allows individuals to gain citizenship after meeting certain economic criteria.

St. Kitts and Nevis

Officially the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, St. Kitts and Nevis is an island country consisting of the two islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis, both located in the West Indies, in the Leeward Islands chain of the Lesser Antilles. Nigerian travelers can stay for up to three months in this Caribbean nation without needing a visa. Just like Dominica, the country also has a Citizenship by Investment program, offering a pathway to citizenship through economic contributions.

Barbados

Barbados is an island country in the Atlantic Ocean. It is part of the Lesser Antilles region of the West Indies. It is considered to be part of the Caribbean region. The island, known for its culture and cuisine, is a popular tourist destination. Nigerians can stay in Barbados for up to three months without a visa.

Vanuatu

Officially the Republic of Vanuatu, Vanuatu is an island country in Melanesia located in the South Pacific Ocean. It offers a serene environment with its beaches, rainforests, and volcanoes. Nigerian passport holders can visit Vanuatu for up to 30 days without requiring a visa.

Fiji

Officially the Republic of Fiji, Fiji is an island country in Melanesia; part of Oceania in the South Pacific Ocean. For a taste of the South Pacific, Nigerians can head to Fiji. You can actually stay visa-free for up to four months as long as you have your valid Nigerian passport, allowing you to experience their cultures, engage in business opportunities, and enjoy leisure time.
