The former presidential candidate and Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, penned a heartfelt congratulatory message to Grammy award-winning star Tems.

As numerous messages of congratulations flood in for the Nigerian superstar artist, Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, one message that stands out is from Obi.

The Onitsha-born politician and businessman took to his official account on X (formerly Twitter) to express his joy. He began by highlighting the significant achievements of Nigerian entertainers in recent years. In his words, “I am thrilled by the tremendous success that Nigerian youths are achieving in various fields, especially in the entertainment sector.”

He went on to congratulate Tems on winning her second Grammy award early in her record-breaking career. “I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tems @temsbaby, who has just secured her second Grammy Award in the Best African Music Performance category. I also celebrate Nigeria’s entertainment industry and all the Nigerian artists who were nominated in various award categories. Undoubtedly, Nigeria is home to an endless flow of talent that continues to showcase our nation on the global stage through their creative arts.”

Additionally, the multi-credentialed politician reaffirmed his commitment to youth development in the arts and entertainment sectors for national growth. He stated, “I am firmly dedicated to building a nation that supports youth development and helps them discover and harness their individual talents for national productivity. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO”
