Adesua Etomi Recalls Battle With Hyperemesis Gravidarum
Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington recently shared her experience with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness she faced while pregnant with her second child.

She and her husband, singer Bankole Wellington, known as Banky W, welcomed their second child in 2024.
Adesua reflected on her journey after learning about a tragic incident involving a pregnant woman in the UK who died by suicide after being bedridden due to extreme morning sickness.
According to PEOPLE, Jess Cronshaw took her life while struggling with this debilitating condition, which causes severe nausea and vomiting, often resulting in weight loss and dehydration.
In an Instagram story, Adesua expressed her frustration that many people do not understand how serious hyperemesis gravidarum can be. She took the opportunity to thank her husband, doctors, family, and friends for their support during her difficult time.
“When I talk about the seriousness of hyperemesis gravidarum, people don’t get it, and it frustrates me,” she wrote. “This is not just ordinary morning sickness; it is a serious condition that profoundly affects the quality of your life.”
