Adebukola Salau’s ‘Night of the Royals’ Honours Impact, Advances Leadership and Legacy

Adebukola Salau, Founder of Her Connect Hub, last December, hosted the ‘Night of the Royals’, a Christmas Charity Gala that blended celebration with concrete social and economic intervention for women and families.

The high-profile event, staged as a flagship Her Connect Experience, brought together civic leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals and international stakeholders for an evening focused on leadership, resilience and service to humanity. Beyond its red-carpet appeal, the gala was designed to deliver measurable outcomes aligned with Her Connect Hub’s mission of structured empowerment.

The event recorded strong civic and institutional presence. Among dignitaries in attendance were the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, the youngest and first Black female mayor in the borough’s history; the Mayor of Dunstable, also the first Black mayor of the town; the Mayor of Islington; and a councillor from Kent. An international speaker from Texas, United States, further underscored the global reach and relevance of the platform.

Organisers noted that the calibre of representation reflected growing recognition of Her Connect Hub as a credible convenor operating at the intersection of leadership development, economic empowerment and community impact.

A defining pillar of The Night of the Royals was the recognition of women and men from diverse walks of life whose leadership, service, and resilience are creating meaningful impact at both community and national levels.

Awards honoured individuals across business, public service, community leadership, and social impact — celebrating contribution, consistency, and responsibility rather than titles alone. This inclusive approach reinforced a balanced model of leadership that values service to humanity as the true mark of legacy.

The direct interventions aimed at improving women’s economic prospects. Through strategic partnerships, the gala awarded £3,000 career sponsorships to four women. The sponsorships covered professional training in areas such as digital marketing, Scrum mastery, project and product management, business analysis and compliance, alongside access to learning management systems, real-world project experience, CV reviews, interview preparation and professional references.

In addition, £2,000 cash business sponsorships were presented to three women-led businesses, complemented by tailored advisory support focused on brand positioning, messaging refinement and growth strategies across relevant platforms. A £1,000 all-inclusive Valentine’s weekend getaway was also awarded through a raffle, supporting fundraising and community engagement efforts.

The gala also marked the official launch of Women For More International (WFMI), a new initiative founded by Salau and developed from the Her Connect Hub ecosystem. WFMI was introduced as a structured platform supporting single and isolated mothers and survivors of domestic abuse, with programmes centred on dignity-led recovery, essential support, confidence rebuilding and long-term economic pathways. Its mission, vision and 2026 programme calendar were unveiled during the event.

Speaking through the structure of the evening, the organisers emphasised that the Night of the Royals redefined “royalty” as leadership, responsibility and service, rather than status. Award recipients were recognised for resilience and tangible contributions to their communities.

With the Night of the Royals, Her Connect Hub reinforced its position as a purpose-driven platform that combines visibility with substance, and compassion with governance, setting a benchmark for impact-focused convening in the UK and beyond.
