Bukky-Ajayi

The Nigerian entertainment industry has once again lost one of its rare gems, Zainab Bukky Ajayi. The veteran thespian who blessed the world with her inimitable acting talent died at the age of 82.She passed on in the early hours of today, at about 11am. Reports say that she has been battling with a heart related condition before she passed on at her Surulere residence.

Before her death, she left an order to have her buried immediately; therefore she will be laid to rest at Atan Cementery at 4pm.

Her demise has drawn reactions from her colleagues and protégés in the movie industry.

Biodun Okeowo, puts it this way:” RIP great mummy Bukky Ajayi. May the angels of the lord receive your soul and forgive your entire sins ma.”

Yvonne Jegede who posted a picture of herself kissing the deceased said on instagram:” My last kiss, I will forever cherish… “#LifeWellSpentYvonne

Muyiwa  Ademola was much more philosophical in his reaction:” Sleep on mama … We love you but God loves you more. No matter how nice, no matter how beautiful, no matter how accommodating, no matter how religious, no matter how kind one could be, we shall all taste death, but be good always because of the last day. Mama’s was a life well spent. Love you always mama”

“I can never forget this moment….We should celebrate, appreciate, and honor ourselves whilst we are still alive. Life is too short for bitterness, negativity. Mama Bukky Ajayi your legacy will continue to live on…thanks for sharing your gift with the world. ADIEU MA,” Mercy Aigbe writes

Another veteran actress, Joke Silva writes:” Bye bye aunty mine as you go through “the open doors” to your Heavenly Father. Adieu

Recall that Madam Bukky Ajayi was honoured at the recent edition of African Magic Viewers Choice Awards. She was taken to the venue in a wheelchair giving an emotional speech that got many crying.
