Beauty rules from the legend, Coco Chanel in her own words

In celebration of the 133rd anniversary of foremost fashion designer, Coco Chanel, here are five life beauty lessons from the legend herself, in her own words, guess what? They are certainly true!

1. On Lipstick
“If you’re sad, if you are disappointed in love, put on your makeup, give yourself some beauty care, put on lipstick, and attack.”
Coco was an advocate for a classic tube of crimson. Her rouge mouth was charming and functioned like beauty armor. A good matching lipstick can transform a woman from ordinary to alluring.
2. On having a  Signature Scent
“A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future”. Coco  believed in the importance of a woman carrying an ambience. To prove that she was onto something, her own revolutionary Chanel No. 5 fragrance was launched in 1921.Presently, a bottle of Chanel No. 5, reportedly sells every 30 seconds and it’s widely known as one of the most iconic fragrances of all time. Every woman should have a scent that creates a lasting impression.
3. On  Individuality
She was a strong advocate of women liberation. According to her, there should be a link between looking and feeling comfortable. A woman should own her body. As Chanel put it, “in order to be irreplaceable, you must be different.”
4. On Picking the Right Shades
Black is known to be the colour of mourning. Chanel brought black into fashion in 1926. Whether choosing a crisp day dress or the perfect hue of blush, the shade of the moment came down to one simple precept from her “The best colour in the whole world is the one that looks good on you.”
5. On Aging Gracefully
Age is nothing but a number. Coco Chanel talked about an issue most women avoid. She said:
“At 20, your face has been given to you by nature; at 30, your face has been fashioned for life; but at 50, it is up to you to deserve it,” With the obsession with anti-aging cosmetics, she offered  what might translate into a refreshing counterpoint that it is best to embrace a full life of experience—and the beauty of the fine lines that come with it.
Known for  her trademark suits and little black dresses, Coco Chanel is famous for her timeless designs that are still trending up till now. She was born  Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel on August 19, 1883, in Saumur, France.
