Heartbroken man unknowingly raises a girl from birth thinking she is his daughter only to discover she is not

A man identified as Charles Manigo has revealed his shock and heartbreak after finding out that the 18 year old girl he raised from birth as his own daughter wasn’t his, but was actually abducted at childbirth by his ex-partner, Gloria Williams in 1998.

According to Charles, his ex-partner, Gloria, lied to him she had given birth to the baby, he named Alexis Kelly Manigo, while he traveled, not knowing she suffered a miscarriage one week before kidnapping the baby from Florida while posing as a nurse. They had both shared custody of the child when they split in 2003.

The girl, Kamiyah Mobley, has been returned to her original parents, Shanara Mobley and Craig Aiken, after Gloria, was on Friday arrested by the police following investigations. Kamiyah was kidnapped from her mother’s arms at the University Medical Center in Jacksonville in July 1998, resulting in a nationwide inquiry.

Mr Manigo has revealed upon Gloria’s arrest that he still loves his ‘daughter’, even though she’s been re-united with her new family. He said:

”She was the love of my life.
”One of the hardest things she said on Friday was, “Dad I love you” even though she knows what’s going on.
”She’s still my child. I understand what’s going on, but she’s still my child.”

Meanwhile, the real parents of the girl are happy to be reunited with their daughter after many years of separation. Speaking after the meeting with his daughter, Aiken, 41, told Daily Mail: ‘It was the best day of my life. It was a beautiful, beautiful day. We are so happy. I hope the world is rejoicing with us.’

Gloria Williams was arrested on Friday at her home and will be handed over to the Florida authourity for charges of kidnapping.
