Reports indicate that the protest against the Federal Government is currently ongoing with participants assembling at the Unity Fountain, Abuja prominent among them is movie producer and social commentator, Charles Novia and other human rights activists.

On his Facebook page, he shared pictures of the ongoing protest and wrote:

”Here we are at the Unity Fountain, Abuja. People are gathering in small numbers but steadily. The Press is here and some activists.

”There is heavy police presence but no police harassment or anything. People are speaking on the podium and there are people of various tribes and tongues here, United for a common purpose.

”We must speak against the economic policies which bring hunger to our land.I feel complete as a democratic citizen of Nigeria. I have expressed my democratic right to protest and make my voice heard.”

Further updates from Charles Novia reveal that protesters are marching peacefully towards the Eagles square and the National Assembly even under heavy monitoring from the police force.

From the photos he shared, protesters were carrying placards displaying their grievances with the government.
