The Tuface vs Blackface battle continues over planned protests

February 2,2017

By Osahon Ibizugbe

The fact that both were once friends and members of now defunct boy band Plantashun Boiz hasn’t stopped Blackface from airing his views about the upcoming protest spearheaded by Tuface.

He first reposted Professor Awoyemi’s article where Tuface was called an illiterate. Then after receiving so much backlash, he came out to say he never called Tuface an illiterate instead, he just agrees with some points of the writer.

“To clear the air people, I didn’t call Tuface an illiterate and I didn’t write the article as it clearly stated but I agree with some points pointed out by the writer especially how this present administration been releasing bail out funds in little time and other peoples loot bla bla bla….so I felt and still feel that instead of anyone staging a protest we all should put our hands on deck to rebuild our country with everyone being committed to serving the country so there can be peace in the land once more and these killings, corruption and political madness can go away, since I make music I have to be committed to making music that’s going to educate the youths and encourage them to go achieve their dreams and not put them in harm’s way because nobody knows should things escalate and get out of hand it falls back on the people.”

He later wrote another post on twitter using a screenshot of the planned march in support of President Buhari as a backdrop. In this post, he reiterated his earlier saying that he doesn’t hate Tuface all he just wants is for him to abandon his protests plan and instead work with the government to move the country forward. Later, Blackface also urged Nigerians not to go out to protest, urging people not to be used by politicians.

Meanwhile, Tuface’s younger brother, Hyacinth has added his 2 cents to the matter saying Tuface’s decision to lead the protests is not just about fame and certainly about money.

The issue here is not about fame and certainly not about money, successful he is already, it’s not about album sales or awards, let’s not forget he has done that already, it’s about what’s right and what’s wrong. Nigeria needs us and we must give ourselves to Nigeria. We must show good character and love to support this course. Nigerians are dying, woman, children and men. This is not about your tribe or my tribe, this is not about politics or pointing fingers at anyone, please let’s not miss the point here, this is about humanity.

We the people of Nigeria want to know what is going on with our basic human needs, WE NEED TRANSPARENCY! We need to feel like we belong to #OneNigeria. This platform is NOT anti-government but pro- Nigeria. When the people of Nigeria wins, it means that our government is doing a great job.

It is time for us all to get involve one way or the other and peacefully we will work towards a better Nigeria. Now it’s on us to decide what page of history we want our undying courage, love and support for Nigeria to be written. Let God’s blessings be with us all and let that blessing flow around Nigeria #istandwithNigeria #istandwith2baba”
