Actress, Mercy Johnson is set to organise Talent hunt show for Kogi youths

Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, who is the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Entertainment, Arts and Culture for Kogi State, in her quest to give back to the society, is organising a talent hunt for the youths in the state in line with the ‘New Direction Agenda’ of the state Governor, Yahaya Bello.

The talent show which is tagged  ‘GYB Talent Hunt’, aims at discovering talented actors and actresses amongst the teeming youths in Kogi State as well as boost their acting careers into the mainstream Nollywood.

Joining Mercy Johnson-Okojie on the project as judges are some of her colleagues in Nollywood including, Bimbo Akintola, Francis Duru, and movie director, Frank Rajah

Speaking on this new project, Mercy Johnson-Okojie said:
“This is my way of giving back to the state that made me who I am. I have been incredibly blessed to have played my little part in the revolution that is Nollywood, it is now time that my brothers and sisters in Kogi state get the same opportunity.”

She also took to Instagram to unveil her talent show writing:

“Hey Friends! I am excited to announce that I will be embarking on a talent hunt for the youths in the beautiful state of Kogi .This is a way of giving back to the state that made me who I am. I have been incredibly blessed to have played my little part in the revolution that is Nollywood, it is now time that my brothers and sisters in Kogi state get the same opportunity.
The winners get to act alongside me and other top acts in the industry. I hope to see you all at the different venues and wish all participants the best.

 

The talent hunt is open to only those, who are above 18 years of age and are passionate about acting. They can register on her website.

The actress added that “The first prize winner will be taking home 250,000 naira and a lead role in the upcoming folklore movie ‘INIKPI’. Also, the first runner up will receive 150,000 naira and a key feature in’ Inikpi’, while the second runner up will win 100,000 naira and a feature in ‘Inikpi’”
